With the New Year comes new opportunities for farmworkers, farm owners, and their families to share data, challenges, opportunities, and their experiences farming in New York State. The agriculture community looks forward to participating in the three virtual Farm Laborers Wage Board Hearings on January 4, 18, and 20.
It is critical that Governor Hochul and the Wage Board keep the overtime threshold at 60 hours, so farmworkers and future generations of farmers continue living and working in the Empire State. Our local food supply, the now permanent Nourish NY program, and our food pantries depend on the sustainability of this essential industry. We invite farmers, farmworkers, and everyone working or partnering with agribusinesses to register to testify at hearings this month.
